Learn to weave traditional protective lucky charms from colored yarn, following old wedding customs meant to bring luck and ward off evil.
Lucky charms are woven on various occasions to provide protection and bring good luck. They are certainly woven for weddings. Using threads of different colors, beautiful crosses are woven between at least two wooden sticks, starting from the center and working outward. These are meant to ward off evil at the wedding, protect the newlyweds, and keep an eye on the proceedings.
In this workshop, we’ll talk about traditional wedding customs, objects, and activities.
In the past, braided yarn ribbons were used at weddings as gifts, to secure bundles of hay, as tokens of appreciation for musicians, and for various other occasions. In this workshop, you’ll have the chance to braid your own colorful ribbon, which we’ll decorate at the ends with little bows made from strips of fabric.

Õpi vanade pulmakommete kohaselt punuma õnne ja kaitset toovaid õnneriste erinevat värvi lõngast.
Õnneriste punutakse kaitse ja õnne hoidmise eesmärgil erinevatel puhkudel. Kindlasti aga pulmadeks. Erinevat tooni lõngadega punutakse vähemalt kahe puupulga vahele keskelt väljapoole kulgedes kauneid riste, millede eesmärk on pulmas hoida eemal halba, kaitsta noorpaari ning hoida silm peal toimuval. Töötoas räägime vanematest pulmakommetest, esemetest ja tegevustest.
Pulmades kasutati vanasti lõngast punutud paelu andidena, veimepakkide kinnitusena, kiitustena pillimeestele ja muudel erinevatel juhtudel. Töötoas saad endale ka kena kirju paela punuda, millele teeme otstesse kaunistuseks riideribadest tutikesed.
